Waiting is different from doing
The example status set now distinguishes “Waiting for input” from “In progress.” A reader can tell whether the next step belongs to the current owner or depends on another answer. The status describes the state of the work, rather than a judgment about the person responsible.
What to review
Check the reason beside a waiting item before changing its label. A task that can continue with a known limitation is different from a task blocked on approval. This illustrative terminology change does not alter stored business records or migrate any customer workspace; a real product release would need to explain its own data impact.
Illustrative release note for the fictional Meridian product.
